Kirtan Band:

The Kirtan band playing this evening are
kirtan bandFrom the Prem Baba community: Thomas Modern (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Kelsey Smith (harmonium, djembe, vocals), Sam Silver (percussion, violin, mandolin), Jeff Orrey (flute, vocals, percussion). These players were inspired to create this ensemble as a result of their travels to India and connection with Sri Prem Baba. The band has played in several venues in Denver, Boulder, Estes Park, and Colorado Springs, and has been particularly inspired to organize a new kind of kirtan: circle kirtan dance. This format emphasizes interaction and participation, and fuses music, dance, and visual arts.

From the Osho Leela Community: Jamie St Clair (guitar, vocals), and Jade McAloon (bass, vocals). Jamie has played music in various meditations for Osho and his sangha since 1988. He lived and made music at Osho’s Ashram in India for 12 years, deeply experiencing how music can be a container and vehicle for high energy and consciousness. Jade has been making music for meditation for over 20 years also in the context of spiritual community, and brings a long experience with kirtan also.
