Poetry: For Parago

by Jamie St Clair

Japanese teaAnother Day in paradise.
Cardamom and pepper spice,
Black tea stringent, strong and fine,
Japan incense, smokey pine.

Begins a ritual to fly high.
To sit at sunrise with a cup of chai,
Journal and pen. I have begun
The sacred art of meditation.

Worlds upon worlds of wars and fools,
How can it be when terror rules,
That I can sit with closed eyes
And enter into paradise?
